Dear Clauson,

In reply to your letter of 28th May, No.6832/29 29(to Roseway who is now on leave) on the subject of the

Hong Kong Military Contribution, I am writing to say that

after consulting the Treasury, we accept the terms of

your first amendment and if you can accept the words

"may no longer subsist" in place of "no longer subsists"

in the second amendment we are prepared to agree to this

also.

If you see no objection we will now write to

you officially forwarding the suggested draft as

amended.
